Iran’s VP meets Emir of Qatar
TEHRAN- On Friday, Iran's vice president Mohammadreza Aref left for Doha to meet with the Emir of Qatar and participate in the funeral of Ismail Haniyeh.
Before leaving for Doha, Aref pointed out, “The message of the Iranian people and the Islamic Revolution is solidarity with the oppressed and resistant people of Palestine and the ideas that pertain to the liberation of the holy Quds from the Zionists’ occupation,” as reported by ISNA.
During his trip, Aref discussed regional issues and the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh by the Zionist regime with the Emir of Qatar. The necessity of condemning the hostile and illegal actions of the Zionist regime in the assassination of the political chief of Hamas was one of the important points of this discussion.
Martyr Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were assassinated in Tehran on Wednesday by the Zionist regime. He had attended the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, on Tuesday before he was assassinated.
